Song of the Fight is a tactical gang leadership RPG set in St. Louis at the turn of the 20th century. You lead a gang of up to 20 fighters through visceral group combat, territory control, and gang management.
Instead of controlling fighters directly, you prepare your crew (recruit, train, equip, plan) and issue squad-level orders during combat. Your fighters execute based on their training, morale, and psychology. Panic spreads. Rage is contagious. Every fight tells a different story.
The game combines the squad-level emotional investment of XCOM, the personnel management depth of Football Manager, the emergent storytelling of Kenshi and RimWorld, and the tactical grit of Battle Brothers.
Indirect control combat: Give orders, not inputs. Your fighters are AI-driven individuals with personality, morale, and mental state.
Preparation over execution: Victory is earned before the first punch through scouting, training, and tactical planning.
Scale: From 3v3 alley brawls to 20v20 territory wars with real-time morale and group psychology.
Gang management: Recruit, train, and manage a living crew. Hierarchy, loyalty, betrayal, and life events.
Five factions: Each with distinct fighting styles, cultural identities, and strategic approaches.
Living world: Strategic city map with territory control, intel networks, and fog of war.
